What Training Toilet Works Best For Potty Training Boys?
We have the traditional potty training toilet that sits on the floor. We also have the seat that you place on top of our toilet, this is what we are currently using. My son is almost 3, I feel that he is too big for the “traditional” toilet. But, is one more successful than the other. He needs help getting up on our toilet. Would we be better off with the one on the floor that he can get on and off of on his own?

Buy a stool so he can use the seat you place on your toilet without help. Also, throw some cheerios in the toilet and tell him to try to hit them when he pees. It makes it fun for him to use the potty, and he will want to use it more often.
Replythrow some cigarette butts in the toilet, that will make him want to sink them, just keep a step stool near by. it works for big boys also
ReplyThere are no “training” toilets in day care, preschool or kindergartens. They have regular toilets. When faced with this “delima”, quite often children trained on “potty seats/chairs” revert to wetting and soiling themselves becuase they are unfamilar and afraid of the big toilets. He needs to learn on a regular toilet and if he requires help YOU as a parent GIVE it. That is part of the job of parenting.
Replyjust buy a toddler stool to put in front of the toilet. My son is two and uses the toilet seat that you place on the toilet. He is finally standing when he pees though! YAY!!
