Potty Training Twins
If you have twins or children of a similar age you may feel that potty training them together may seem like a time-saver, but it doesn’t always work out that way, as your children may approach readiness at different times.
A key point to remember is that not all children are ready at the same time [...]
When Should I Start Potty Training My Baby?
I have a 9 months old baby boy and I haven’t started potty training him yet. I’m waiting till he is 1 yr old but some people tell me I should’ve started to potty train him long ago. Is it about time, how long does it take for him to get used to it, and is it really hard? thank u

Both of my children were potty trained before they were 2. My first son potty trained at 20 months of age and my second child was potty trained at 16 months. They began potty training because they showed the signs.
ReplySome signs that your child is ready to potty trained are:
Staying dry through the night and after nap
Understands what it means to “tee-tee” and “poo-poo”
Pulling diaper off
If your child is showing these signs the best way to start is to buy a small potty for your child to start sitting on. As soon as they wake up in the morning, set them on the potty. If they go, make a big deal about it!! Buy underwear and tell them that if they continue to tee and poo in the potty that they will get to wear “big boy” underwear!
If they don’t seem to get the idea, don’t push them. When your child is ready, he will let you know! Be patient potty training doesn’t happen overnight! And, most dr.s’ say that if a child is potty trained too early it could lead to bed wetting at night well up into their school years.
When you feel your son is ready to potty train is totally up to you, but I have never heard of a baby beginning potty training so soon. Actually I don’t know if attempting to potty train is a good idea until the child has the ability to understand fully what you are asking of him. This most likely won’t be possible until closer to the 18 month mark.
ReplyI don’t think it’s even possible to potty train a boy until they are at least 18 months old, and that would even be surprising. I mean, they need to be able to walk first at least, and understand the functions of their body to be able to tell when they have to go.
ReplyDon’t rush it.
I just started potty training my 16 month old. He is scared of his potty chair! He was to use the regular potty. So I hold him up there and he goes pee just fine. but remember every child is different and learns at their own Pace.
ReplyBoy’s aren’t really ready until about 2 1/2 but good luck with that!
ReplyChildren on average start @ 2.. you’re fine!!!! I have a 17 month old and he tells me that he going poop but not that he “has” to go.. there’s a big difference!!!
