Any Ideas On Potty Training Boys?
Anyone have any ideas or tricks that have worked for them on potty training little boys? My son is 2 1/2 and he is just not interested. I have tried underware and making a game out of it but he thinks I am nuts as he just isnt having it. I heard that you shouldnt even initiate it with boys until they are at least 2 1/2. My first two were girls and that was a walk in the park it was so easy. HELP I need ideas, as I have run out of everything I can think of lol :o)

If he is two he might be too young. Sometimes you have to give them more time. My son just turned 3 and is now starting to sit on the potty. We have a prize drawer in the bathroom with stickers and toys. When he sits on the potty he gets a sticker to go on it. If he pees he gets one toy and a sticker, and if he poops he gets two toys and a sticker. It is working pretty well right now. Try and make it a game, not work or they will fight you

Replymy 2 sons are grown men these days, but the way I potty trained them was with cheerios and sitting them backwards on the toilet.At first I would help them to hold themself down until they got the ideal then they would try to hit the target. As they became bigger boys they stood up on their own. I learned from the first one that the little cup on the front of the potty chair hurt him, so just put it to the side and never used it again. was nicer too, they learned quicker to face the toilet to pee.
ReplyHi I have two boys.They are both grown now, but my first one potty trained when only eighteen months and my second one was 3 1/2. I tried everything as well. the potty chair was great as I sat him on it, I would tell him to go and when he did , I rewarded him with m&ms. Believe it or not it worked. Also, if you are married or have a partner it helps the boys to see how other boys go. This is all I have
ReplyHe will get tired of wettin himself sooner or later. Maybe you are trying to hard. when the girls go to potty praise them in front of him tell them how proud you are of them.let them know what you are doing and that you are doing it to help their little brother. I am sure they will be glad to help. He should start wanting some of the same attention they are getting and will want to go himself.
