Potty Training Twins
If you have twins or children of a similar age you may feel that potty training them together may seem like a time-saver, but it doesn’t always work out that way, as your children may approach readiness at different times.
A key point to remember is that not all children are ready at the same time [...]
How Do I Get My 3 Year Old Off A Small Portable Potty Onto A Big Potty?
We’ve tried bribing her, We tried telling her that mommy and daddy goes on it. We have tried to put her little brother on the big potty so that she sees there is nothing to be scared of. She used to go on the big potty and then she stopped. we tried everything and nothing has worked, so please someone help us!

my 3 year old had a hard time switching. she went through a time when she wanted to be a baby not a big kid… I told her that we would need to take all of her big kid toy and give them to another big kid if she was a baby, maybe that mean idk, but it worked, i also had bought the little potty thats top comes off and sits on top of the seat on the big potty, so one day i “lost” the bottem of it and got her a good non skid step stool. for a while i had to help her and be with her but not (she is 3.5 years old) she does it all by her self and has started taking the “baby potty” seat off and perching on the big potty seat
ReplyI would back off for awhile and let her have her little potty. Then when she is fully potty trained and using the little one consistently then start the process of asking her to use the big one. If you don’t already have a little seat to go on the big potty get one, then make sure you have a step stool or other way for her to get up on her own.
ReplyDon’t worry she won’t go on the little potty forever.
I was having problems with my daughter going (at all! On any pot), but I got an email with this story about a woman who told her kid that every time he/she flushes the toilet, the pee, poop, and toilet paper go out into the ocean to feed Nemo. I swear, no lie, that was all it took! She’s been going ever since. You could tell your child that since there’s no way to flush the little potty, Nemo can’t eat (eww…this sounds so gross, but it really worked) her “stuff”. It’s worth a try. Hey it worked for us. Of course now we’ve been having to deal with the fact that she completely freaks if we flush without her saying, “bye Nemo” after every go. We have to wait and flush it again. It’s cute though, and at least she’s on the toilet and not in a diaper! Good luck.
Replycan you put the baby potty on the big one? The potty we have does that. What I did with my kids was start with the potty on the floor then moved it to the potty and I let them decide when to use it without. My kids never used it long before they wanted the big potty. She is still young so I wouldn’t worry just let her use it especially if she is small.
